The
main house is separated from the guest house/art studio (on the left) by a partially
walled court yard. The walls on either side of the courtyard opening are structural
“shear” walls that allow for ample windows and French doors on the
view side of the house and guesthouse. The clerestory windows at the living
area are shown open which allow for cooling ventilation on a warm summer afternoon.
