I
have a B.A. from Stanford University and a professional degree in architecture
from U.C. Berkeley. I worked for architecture firms in San Francisco before
moving to Sonoma County in 1973. Working for building contractors in the mid-seventies
as a carpenter has given me a good feel for the building trades. I built my
own home in the Sebastopol area during this time period. This home was featured
in the L.A. Times Home section and appeared in Sunset. I have been in private
practice as a licensed architect in Sonoma County since 1978 primarily designing
custom homes, remodels and additions.
I
love hiking and camping in the Sierras and high desert country with my wife
Sara. We also enjoy working in our “habitat” garden, having recently
created a pond and bog area. My passion for nature extends to my insistance
that we make a pledge to an earth flag as well as our American flag as we start
our Sebastopol Kiwanis Club meetings: “I pledge to live lightly on this
precious planet so that our childrens’ children may experience its joys
and wonders.” My other passions are tennis and music. I created a tennis
singles ladder which I keep up through e-mails. I find great pleasure playing
the piano, accordian and guitar.
